My Initial Impressions of my 530xi:
1. The Acceleration is smooth and the handling is great (this is coming from a guy that had a 2003 330i Sport just recently). The 5 series is more refined overall as compared to my prior 330i Sport as I expected.
2. I am a BMW Sports Package fan, however after last year's winter and me being the lazy guy that does not switch out to snow tires, my BMW 330i SP was nothing but a sled when it snowed and I did not want to have that scared feeling again during the winter months, therefore the 530xi. The rims on the 530xi are decent and I can live with them, so I caved in and didn't get the regular 530i Sports Package. I will definitely get the Sports Package if Winter wasn't an issue to you.
3. I am already getting this slight jolt when I come to a complete stop and idle. I have read threads on here that this is a learning curve by the engine and I hope this engine learns fast or else I am calling my service advisor if it still continues.
4. The Logic 7 Premium Sounds, sounds great, but I have not yet fine tuned it and I still believe my wife's Mark Levinson in her Lexus is a better sounding system right off the bat.
5. The steering feels lighter than my 330i sport, but maybe this is due to it's not a sports package with those beautiful, thick rims and tires. I can get used to this.
6. The Idrive takes some getting used to, but it's straightforward and kind of cool. I don't know what all the fuss is about when it comes to Idrive.
7. The START / STOP Button feature is cool, but why do I still have to insert my key into the slot which is only inches away? Again this is just for the cool factor at this time.
8. I miss the loud sound of my 330i exhaust when I would start it up or even just slowly drive out of gas station. Here's to refinement and getting older!
9. Although this is not my dream 550i vehicle, it still feels like a lighter and quicker vehicle than my 2001 530i. This is a good thing, but it also reminds you of a Japanese car and how light and agile it felt. This 530xi definitely does not feel like the bulky tank of a vehicle my 2001 530i was (and I liked that feeling too).
10. I have always been a fan of the new 5 series and it's a beautiful vehicle when you see it up close and afar.

Absolutely beautiful! Appreciate the picture of the new Sept. production Key for use with the stop/start button. Is that a duplicate key attched to the ring that is just partially shown in the pic, or is it something else? Best of luck with the new Bimmer.

Thanks again! That other key in the photo is for another vehicle. The new BMW keys are all that same rectangular format now.
