I just bought a new 2005 BMW 545i and it is absolutely great... except... The cupholders are absolutely useless! They won't hold hardly any cups I've tried so I end up sitting with my drink between my legs, or holding it. Has anybody else experienced this problem? Could I possibly have a defect? Help!!!  |

No you most likely do not have a defective model.
There was another thread describing the bad design of the cupholders in the e60's somewhere in this forum.

The cupholders stink. Make sure the cup is mid-size at most, and half full or more. Otherwise it either won't fit, or will fly out during any type of semi-spirited driving.
