 CD Installation help

Cheers all,

Installed the glove box mount CD changer in one of my E60's.
It was a breeze and took less than 10min!

However the car/iDrive doesn't seem to "read" or find it.
It has power and loads the cartridge & CD's in it but when I press
CD on the iDrive (in the entertainment screen) CD1, CD2, CD3, etc.
do not show up?

Do I also need a software upgrade to operate the changer?
Could the changer be defective?

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

It has to be retrofitted to the vehicle at the dealership before it will work... and it has to be properly connected to the most bus before retrofit.

Yes, you need the iDrive software to recognize the CD changer not a software upgrade, hence back to dealer.
