Aside from the obvious engine upgrade, did BMW make any other changes to the internal workings of the car (brakes, transmission, diff, etc.)?

Thanks, Stream! So, really, not ~*too*~ much difference...I'll summarize:- New V8 gives 360 HP and 360 ft-lb of torque (that's an increase of 35 HP and 30 ft-lb)
 - Upgraded DSC (dynamic stability control) system
 - Start/Stop button (for ignition)
 - Leather insert for I-Drive button
 - New Colors (Monaco Blue replaces Oreint Blue; Deep Green replaces Oxford Green
 - Comfort Access
 - Heated front seat independent of cold-weather pkg available
 - 550i only: Active Steering is separated from Sports pkg and available stand-alone
 - Sirius satellite prewiring is now standard

Well, okay, upgraded DSC, several new colors, etc. I'm actually curious about driveline and suspension changes.

 | All 2006 5 series cars have the active steering removed from the sport package. Upgraded DSC includes the E90's trick brake holding feature (on hills so car does not roll backwards when starting) , and the stupid soft stop feature!
