slight noise in the drivers side in the new 5er

has anyone heard a little noise in the driver side as if something is loose or viberating inside the very left of the car.
at first i thought that it was just me. but then i drove my friends '05 525 and it had the same noice and while i was telling couple of my other friends ('05 530i & another '05 525) they told me they have the same noise.
is it a common thing? and is there a reason for that ?

p.s: my car is '04 530i

You know I thought I was hearing some noise from the left door near the front edge. After experimenting a little, it turned out to be the overhead visor. I pulled the visor ever so slightly toward the center of the car and the noise stopped!

My guess is you have the old door seals, ie, the squeaky ones. Its a bit strange and I'm guessing you hear it as you take off from a stop - then it goes away at highway speeds.

There is a fix covered under warranty - but make sure you ask for NEW SEALS. I took mine in the other week and discovered (after leaving the car a full day) that they only lubricated the seals. It was nice and quiet for about 5 days - and now I feel like I'm riding a horse with the saddle squeaking!

I'll take it back in when I have time.

ok.. i have some follow up questions .. but forgive me if they sounded a bit -should be known- :P
what do you mean by covered under warranty? is there a hidden clause or something?
do they have to change the whole door ?? coz im getting this sound from all doors.
or is it only the black rubber seals..
if you could explain a little i'd be grateful

Sure Aquis - I received the following in a post by Jeffnin

Ahoy, there Credit777:

It is indeed covered under warranty. The Service Bulletin info: SI B 51 02 05:

Situation: Some customers may complain that they hear squeaking noises coming from the doorframe area while driving.

Correction: In case of customer complaint, replace all 4 door seals with the improved door seals.

If you hear a "sqeaking" sound (similar to the sound an old wooden sailing ship might make on the ocean?? ) then you probably have a door seal issue. If so, you will also notice it coming from the passenger side of the car as well. Its especially loud when you accelerate from a stop. Like I mentioned, it lessens significantly at consistant speeds. If you believe its your door seals - then call your BMW service manager and tell them the problem. Make sure you request that you want the door seals replaced - not just lubed!

Be well.
