Something new. When I press and hold the trunk release portion of my key, the alarm goes off and the trunk doesn't pop open. This happens with or without the doors of the car being locked. Any suggestions? Thanks.  |

I find that if I hold the trunk release button for the count "one thousand one" it will release the trunk as intended every time without setting off the panic.

Held it for "one thousand one" and let it go. The trunk opened every time.
I was quite embarrassed in the Publix parking lot this morning at 8 am.
Everyone must have thought I was the town crier.

I'll have to give the one thousand one count a try. I'm currently about 50/50 on successfully opening the trunk versus setting off the alarm.

I dunno...I can understand why BMW did this (to prevent accidental openings) but it can be kind of a PITA that holding it too long will set the alarm off....
