Hi all I don't intend to sound like a jerk or sound nosey but what is everyones view of the average salary of someone with a 3 or 5 or 7 series.

So are you asking us what we make? Or what we think we should be making?
I think the difference between a 3, 5, or 7 series can be quite considerable. I mean, a 3er goes for about 40K...a 7 can be how much!!
I'll say this, I have a monthly car payment...and I can afford it. Does that mean I have a lot of money?

Being a Police Officer in California working 4 days on and 4 days off along with overtime I was able to purchase my 2005 545i in November for cash. I am not wealthy but I have good friends and listen to great investments opportunities. I am driven and directed and DO NOT stay in the slow lane !!

kybriggs82, I wish I could do the same (pay cash) BTW, what are your feelings when you chase an e60 while on duty; I know you have to do a job

I don't think he's asking for YOUR annual salary. I interpret the question as: What's the minimum dollar amount you feel you would have to net annually to feel comfortable purchasing a 3, 5, or 7 series. This would gauge your personal opinion of a 3, 5, or 7 series owner. But maybe I'm way off base here... still a rather "touchy" question considering the company we're in.

These questions are always almost impossible to answer. A person making $250K/year might have much less discretionary income than someone earning $50K/year due to a myriad of reasons (e.g. high mortgage, debt levels, spending habits, etc.)
