Sunroof Bang!!
My sunroof is now making a horrendous bang as it closes from the vent position and likewise when I open it from the fully-closed position. I suspect it is some type of mis-alignment but it sounds as though its being hit with a hammer!! Anyone with similar experiences? Any knowledge of a service bulletin or known problem?? Thanks.

This seems to be a fairly common issue, especially after your car has been subjected to summer heat. Others have had the sunroof replaced or aligned. There's no SI bulletin (last time I checked anyway) but at least some dealers are aware of this issue. Your best bet is to take in for service.

I had the same problem with my '06 530i.....the dealer ended up swapping out the entire sunroof tray (took about 6 hours, as the roof liner has to come out) and now all is quite.
