Hi! I've had my 2006 530i for like 3 weeks (1700 miles) and I've noticed a rather annoying squeaking/creaking sound on the driver's side safety belt buckle box. Initially, I thought it was the armrest creaking, but on further examination, I'm pretty sure it's the belt buckle box. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this "normal"?
Separately, does anyone have any recommendations for what sorts of leather products/brands to use to upkeep the interior leather surfaces?
Thank you all so much for your help! Cheers!

my 540i developed a squeak at the drivers door around 20,000 mi. It turned out to be the plastic door alignment guide. The door moves just enough to cause the squeak when driving. Quite annoying. Try putting a very small amount of silicone grease on the door peg. You will find this on the frame pillar the door latch is attached to. It worked for me. Good luck

Thank you all so much for your help! Cheers! | Choice of car care products is only slightly less personal than choice of car colors so you are bound to get a varied set of opinions. Most folks buy Lexol for leather and it is a good product - as a bonus, it is available at most autoparts stores. I use Leatherique(.com) and I like it. For modern car leathers, it just doesn't matter much since they are coated anyway.

My 545 does not have any squeaks, so I can't help with your issue.
Regarding the leather, the most important thing is to keep it clean, using a damp cloth and vacuuming at every wash. Excessive cleaners and conditioners do not help. I use Mequire's leather conditioner, but will only apply it every 4 months or so and I live in So. California. Also try to keep the sun off the leather as much as possible using a windshield sun shade, etc.

I've been using Lexol for many years on my cars with great results.

Thanks so much for your responses! Thanks for the Lexol lead, in particular! Yes, it's the driver's side seatbelt recepticle that's creaking. I'm not really sure what to do about it; it is pretty annoying though...I'll bring it to the service people's attention when I take it in for the 3500 mile initial oil-change (another wonderful piece of advice from this great forum! ), I think.
I'm also wondering what you guys use for exterior wax? Are Klasse products any good? I was recommended Klasse acrylic wax products for best exterior protection for our extreme weather here in the Northeast, but I'd really like to know what you guys think.
Cheers!
