 530i Underpowered?

I am considering going from an e46 M3 to a 530i or 550i with automatic because of the increased amount of city driving. Question for you guys with 530, does the car have adequate power? I would rather go with 530 over the 550 because of cost of car, plus increasing gas prices, but wanted to make sure the car was not underpowered.

I have test driven the 530, and it seems OK on power, but sometimes it is really hard to tell until you have some more miles in the seat.

Thanks

The '06 530 has more than adequate power. Although its always nice to have more power, the 530 gets you where you need to go, has a broad torque curve, and will still put you up against the speed limiter while driving on the Autobahn, plus way better gas mileage then a 545/550.

You might not be able to use your ski bag in Fla. for that purpose but if your a fisherman you can always use it for your fishing rods.Thats what I do and it works great.
cheers

Don't get me wrong! I'd still take a 545/550 in a heartbeat!

I might switch with you when you post your 30mpg stats!
