It was a fun ride, had my 2003 545 for 2 years. I recently moved to Miami and had rented an Audi A6 4.2 (V8). The thing completely blew me away!
As soon as I had the chance I traded in my 545 for a 2005 S series A6. I loved the BMW, but man..............the Audi is a truly luxury automobile.
I'll miss my Beemer, but the new Audis have really taken a huge leap forward in terms of technology and performance. The older Audis weren't as nice, but wow....
Anyways, until my wife picks up her new 3 series I'll be off the boards. Seriously, to everyone who enjoys driving European engineered sports cars try out the new S series A6 models. WOW.

When I test drove the Audi A6 this Spring, I was told that I could not get a manual transmission. That was the end of the conversation for me. Ditto for the Mercedes E500. Enjoy the car, though.

Meh.. the Audi's are good, until you drive the E60 M5. Now nothing in my pricerange compares. I have the best uncle in Germany. I have to go visit his car.. err, I mean him again!

545s 1st year was 2004, how did you get a 2003 545? Was it an E39 540? Where do you rent A6?

Was a great car, but man the Audi completely blows it away. I've had E500s in the past, the 545 and now this Audi A6 S-Line. I read the review of the new A6 and had to rent one to check it out.
W O W . They did a much much much better job than BMW integrating all the gadgetry while not sacrificing the interior like BMW did. The interior also feels a lot more sturdy/less cheap as well.
That being said the new 3 series is much better made than the 500 series IMO. The 5 series needs to be updated a bit inside, still a beautiful car on the outside though and drives great.
